about
Still from our perspective as Dan's band mates, "Perfume" is another cringe love song he write in the middle of 2022CCC MAXI-SINGLE recording schedule. On this one, Dan seems like stopping to make small talk, cause in this song we only need to spend no more than 4 minutes. Unlike previous songs which use a lot of diction, but in this song Dan tries to be insanely straightforward on the lyrics department. We can feel a very thick emotional rollercoaster injected musically and takes on a big role in the nuance department. From the slow-driving intro, and still doesn't give any move on the verse except a beautiful small-twinkly riff by Fidellis Altara and Stefan, then to pre-chorus which seems start to whispered that you have to put up your stance because we will do a bungee jumping into the chorus which is full of dense distortion. Then, a song-bridge to nowhere except an encore which seems to give a clear picture of how hard Dan wants to collect his personal promise with someone (which we know, this person is a person who have a commitment issues). Cause we can understand from the lyrics he wrote, he mentioned some moments that he can never forget, and the smell of her perfume wasn't an exception. not the same as the previous 2 songs this year. Dan doesn't repeating the chorus at the song closure part. We don't know what he wanted to say, but what we know he shows that this song is a form of self-reinforcement that things will not always go the way he wants even though in fact he has to travel miles away just to accept the umpteenth time of disappointment. "Perfume" is a soundtrack to collect promises that have not been fulfilled, but we know we cannot do much as long as we make promises to human beings, the disappointment of those unfulfilled promises is an absolute law of nature that we actually have to swallowed raw. Hope you all enjoy the track, as much as we made it out here collectively in Scoundrelland! More huge drops, announced soon. xx
lyrics
[Verse. 1]
I landed in our town safe and sound,
crushing across your bound.
I'm stray and stranded,
don't know where my home is.
Have so much things faded,
confused, swimming nowhere like a fish.
I know I have something to fix,
between you and me
that ever made you sick.
Can I lay my head,
on your fat cheek?
And we gonna waste our time
on the Netflix.
[Pre-chorus]
Give me chance, to stare
at your bare face.
Let me crash, my flesh
at your place.
[Chorus]
I'm addicted to
the smell of your perfume,
please inject me with
your love serum.
My head buzzing,
like I'm in an epicentrum.
[Verse. 2]
And now I'm here need to tell you a truth,
about your smile and your rabbit tooth.
I've been waiting for this moment
from so long.
But now I'm upset with what I've found…
Give me your shoulder,
for me to lean…
I love the smell of your baby blue jeans.
Can I put it
on my lousy sweater?
Cuz I'm barely can't pass this weather.
[Bridge]
Let me taste your lips again,
washing away all this pain.
Should I be ready for
a straitjacket feelin'?
Let me reconnect the chain.
Stroking your hair once again!!!
[Encore]
I smell something, not so strange…
a fragrance, that not so much change.
